BTS Munich 2026: Getting to Allianz Arena on Concert Day

A practical route note for ARMY: U6, Fröttmaning, the Esplanade, arrival timing, crowd flow, and the way back after the show.

Munich Ajussi · Published: May 21, 2026 · about 10 minutes
Main transport information MVG lists BTS on 11 and 12 July 2026 in its Allianz Arena concert information. U6 to Fröttmaning remains the main route. The article also uses the published U3/U6 construction notice, Allianz Arena concert information, and Ticketmaster guidance. Shuttle buses, exact pickup zones, final gate operation, fan project rules, and BTS-specific light-stick rules were not fully confirmed in public information at this point.
Official show time Ticketmaster Germany currently lists BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN MUNICH at Allianz Arena on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 20:00 and Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 20:00. Treat 20:00 as the show time, not as your arrival time. Many ARMY will arrive much earlier for merchandise, photos, fan projects, and the stadium atmosphere. Your own ticket account and event email are still the final sources for show time, VIP timing, and entry details.
Admission and esplanade opening According to the Allianz Arena official concert FAQ, the stadium usually opens one and a half to two hours before the start of the event. The esplanade, where food, drinks, and merchandise stands are located, opens two hours before admission. Actual times may differ depending on the organizer. Check the official event page or your ticket confirmation as the concert date approaches.

For many ARMY, concert day begins long before the first song. Some fans will arrive early for merchandise, photos, fan projects, or time with other ARMY. Others will simply want enough time to reach their seat without stress. Both plans can work.

Allianz Arena is in the north of Munich near Fröttmaning station on the U6 line. On concert day, the train ride is only one part of the route. You also need time for the station, the walk from Fröttmaning, the Esplanade, security, toilets, and meeting points. I would not plan to arrive shortly before the show.

01Plan the route before you leave

Arrival time depends on what you want to do before the show. Merchandise, photos, fan projects, and meeting friends can all add extra time. Decide that before you leave your accommodation, not on the way to the stadium.

Munich handles large events regularly, but travel to Fröttmaning can take longer once the crowd builds. MVG recommends early arrival for Allianz Arena concerts. Give yourself more time if you are traveling with friends, children, luggage, or a strict return plan.

I would decide your arrival time before leaving the hotel and give the route enough room for one small delay.

02Choose how early you want to arrive

The right arrival time depends on your ticket type, your group, and how much time you want around the stadium before the show.

Very early

For fans who want a long stadium day

Best for merchandise, fan projects, meetups, and early atmosphere.

Main risk: energy, weather, food, toilets, and battery.

Morning

For photos, friends, and extra time

Good for photos, friends, fan activity, and correcting small problems early.

Main risk: draining energy and phone too early.

Afternoon

For most reserved-seat visitors

Good for reserved seat visitors and first time Munich travelers who want a buffer.

Main risk: confusing afternoon with almost show time.

Late arrival

The least flexible option

A full train, wrong platform, slow crowd, or ticket app problem can suddenly matter a lot.

Main risk: the arrival plan is too fragile.

I would leave enough time for one small delay, such as a full train, a slow transfer, or a ticket-app problem.

03Transport ticket: check the wording first

MVG currently lists BTS Munich in its Allianz Arena concert transport information, covering U-Bahn, tram, bus, and S-Bahn within the MVV area on the event day. Allianz Arena’s general concert information is more cautious and tells visitors to check the ticket platform. For BTS Munich, check the wording on your own ticket or ticket account.

Look for wording such as MVV included, public transport included, or Kombiticket. If your ticket or ticket platform does not clearly show that public transport is included, buy the correct ticket in the MVGO app or MVV app before traveling. Resale or transferred tickets do not always carry the same public transport terms as the original purchase, so always check the wording shown in your own ticket, not the seller’s description.

Do not solve the ticket question at Fröttmaning The transport ticket question should be solved before you leave your accommodation. On concert day, your phone already has too many jobs: ticket, maps, group messages, photos, payment, translation, and return route.

04U6 to Fröttmaning

MVG describes U6 to Fröttmaning as the fastest and easiest way to reach the stadium, followed by an approximately 15 minute walk to the arena. On concert day, expect the U6 to become much busier as fans from different parts of Munich join the same route.

If you start near Marienplatz, Odeonsplatz, Sendlinger Tor, or Münchner Freiheit, you can usually reach the U6 directly or with a simple transfer. From Hauptbahnhof or Ostbahnhof, the usual route is to connect through the S-Bahn toward Marienplatz, then take U6 north. The exact route can change because of construction, event operation, and crowd control, so check MVGO, MVV, or DB Navigator on the actual concert day.

Save the route before you leave and give yourself extra time for crowded platforms, transfers, and the walk from Fröttmaning.

Important 2026 U3/U6 construction note According to MVG’s construction notice, from 18 May to expected 18 September 2026, U3 and U6 service is interrupted between Sendlinger Tor and Implerstraße because of the Goetheplatz and Poccistraße renovation. Replacement buses operate on this section. This overlaps with the BTS Munich concert weekend.

Fröttmaning is still the key station for Allianz Arena. But if you are staying around Goetheplatz, Poccistraße, Implerstraße, Harras, Westpark, Partnachplatz, Thalkirchen, or another southern U3/U6 area, reaching the northbound U6 may require a detour or replacement bus.

MVG also warns that the return from Fröttmaning may move in controlled waves after Allianz Arena concerts. Do not plan your concert route from an old U-Bahn map or screenshot. Check MVGO on the concert day itself, and add a buffer.
U3 north note for Moosach and Olympia area MVG says the U3 from Moosach runs only as far as Münchner Freiheit in the evenings after the concerts, and on weekends also before the concerts. If you are coming from the Moosach or Olympia area, expect to change at Münchner Freiheit to the U6, or consider MVG’s alternative via Scheidplatz using U2 or tram if it fits your route.

A platform that looks calm can become crowded quickly. A train that looks too full may force your group to split. Agree on the next meeting point before boarding.

Before boarding Decide what your group will do if not everyone enters the same train.

05Fröttmaning is not the stadium gate

After arriving at Fröttmaning, you still need to walk across the Esplanade toward the stadium. MVG gives the walk as about 15 minutes, but it can take longer on a sold-out concert day when the crowd is moving slowly.

Give yourself time for photos, meeting friends, toilets, checking your ticket app, and finding the correct entrance area.

06The Esplanade is part of the day

For many fans, the Esplanade is where the concert atmosphere starts. You can see the stadium, the crowd, the outfits, and the light sticks, so there is no need to rush through it if you arrived early.

The same area can become slow and crowded close to show time. Arriving with a buffer makes the walk much easier.

07Before entry: solve small things early

Use the toilet if you need to. Eat before you become too hungry. Choose one clear meeting point if your group gets separated. “Outside the stadium” is too vague on a major event night. Choose a visible place that everyone can describe without looking at a map.

If you are with children or teenagers, repeat the meeting point before entering the crowd and agree on what a younger fan should do if the group gets separated.

08After the show: Fröttmaning may pause the crowd

After the concert, many people will head toward Fröttmaning and the U6 at the same time. The walk back and the station entrance can therefore be one of the slowest parts of the night.

MVG now warns that after Allianz Arena concerts, if too many people reach the platforms at the same time, Fröttmaning station may be temporarily closed for a few minutes until there is enough room for more passengers. This does not mean the U6 is useless. It means the return happens in controlled waves.

The show ends before the logistics end If you need a train connection, a hotel check in, a family pickup, or a strict curfew, do not plan as if you can instantly move from your seat to the U6 platform. The crowd needs time to move, and Fröttmaning may pause entry briefly for safety.

09Leave quickly or wait for the first crowd to pass

Leave quickly

Move with the first crowd

You leave quickly and join the early crowd toward Fröttmaning.

Good for: strict onward plans.

Risk: many people will have the same idea.

Wait a little

Let the first crowd move ahead

You give the first crowd wave some time before moving.

Good for: fans whose night ends in Munich.

Risk: late connections and tired groups.

Leaving immediately is not always the fastest option because many people will do the same thing. If you have a tight connection, move early. If your night ends in Munich and you are not in a hurry, waiting a little can make the trip back less crowded.

BTS Munich 2026 U6 southbound transfer flow from Allianz Arena Fröttmaning to central Munich

U6 southbound return flow after the concert. Use it as a quick orientation image, then check your exact route from Fröttmaning to your accommodation in MVGO, MVV, or DB Navigator.

How to use this poster The poster shows the main U6 southbound transfer points after leaving Allianz Arena: Münchner Freiheit for U3, Odeonsplatz for U4 and U5, Marienplatz for the S-Bahn trunk line, and Sendlinger Tor for U1, U2, U7, and U8. Use MVGO for your actual route. Because of the 2026 U3/U6 construction, do not rely on this poster alone if your route goes south of Sendlinger Tor.

10Saturday night and Sunday night are different

The two concert nights are slightly different. Saturday night usually gives more late-night flexibility in Munich. Sunday night into Monday can be tighter for onward connections because regular weekday service resumes.

Your exact return depends on the concert night, your destination, construction, crowd control, and any last-minute service changes. Check MVGO on the concert night itself from Fröttmaning to your real destination.

For fans carrying luggage, waiting for the first morning trains, or traveling to another city after the concert, use the BTS-specific note: Luggage Storage, Late Night, and Getting Home. It focuses on concert-night decisions first; general Munich luggage storage options should be checked separately from there.

11Taxi, pickup, and parking

According to the Allianz Arena official concert FAQ, parking permits for concerts cost 20 € and can be purchased from 1 June 2026 at fcbayern.com/parken/home. Note that this registers your license plate for the parking service and is not a reservation for a specific space.

Allianz Arena warns that waiting times of over 2 hours are expected when leaving the parking garages after a concert. Public transport is strongly recommended.

Motorhomes and campers: Allianz Arena has published a BTS-specific warning for 10 to 12 July 2026. Do not plan to park or stay overnight with a motorhome or camper at the stadium bus parks. General concert information mentions limited motorhome spaces for some events, but the BTS-specific notice is stricter and recommends using alternative camping or parking areas. Check the latest Allianz Arena page before traveling.

If someone is picking you up, agree on a clear meeting point away from the stadium crowd. Meeting after one or two U6 stops can be easier than trying to meet directly around Allianz Arena. For most visitors, the U6 remains the main route.

Getting there and back

For most visitors, U6 to Fröttmaning is the main route. Check your ticket wording for public transport, check MVGO on the concert day, and allow extra time for the walk across the Esplanade.

After the show, expect the return to move more slowly and be ready for short crowd-control pauses at Fröttmaning.

Welcome to Munich, ARMY.
